Florida’s rebellious nature has always been spiked liberally with rum. Pirates ravaged the Caribbean with raids and raucous parties. Smugglers known as Rum Runners imported tons of illegal rum into the sunshine state. Rum is the obvious choice for honoring Tampa’s mythical pirate, Jose Gaspar. This year, the Sant’Yago Illuminated Knight Parade storms through Ybor City on Valentine’s Day.
