Bar Scene: The Cork

The Cork is a welcome addition to the drinking and dining scene in Tampa’s Hyde Park area.  In an part of the city saturated with hipster joints and locations that serve as revolving doors for trendy hot spots that often turn cold, the Cork seeks out a simple, mature niche for devotees of good drink, food, and conversation. 

The Cork was opened by the same people who own MacDinton’s across the street, and in a sense, it serves as the flipside to that chronically crowded, loud hangout for the younger beer-swilling set.  Our server even suggested that when MacDinton’s patrons “grow up”, they come across the street to the Cork.
