Making the most of its location along Ybor City's celebrated Seventh Avenue, Gaspar's Grotto is awash in a pirate theme. Named after José Gaspar, patrons there try to live up to the swashbuckling lifestyle, especially on the city's wildest nights: Guavaween and the Gasparilla Night Parade.

Gaspar's Grotto has two separate bar areas. Indoors, you can belly up to the pub-style bar lined with bar stools and booths. Most nights, you'll find some guys getting their game on at the pool tables. They also claim to be the state's largest beer pong facility. On busy nights, Gaspar's opens their doors to the outside patio area. There you'll find a large tiki bar and live music stage.

On weekends you can expect to find a full band rocking the patio lit up in tiki torches and strings of light. During school nights, it's a more laid-back atmosphere with live acoustic acts.

Gaspar's can also help you get suited to start your pirating pursuits. They offer a selection of pirate clothing and accessories as well as a large selection of rum and cigars.

Ybor Bar Crawl

Avoid the meat markets on this unguided tour of my favorite Ybor bars. It may make you rethink your image of Cigar City.
