The Gasparilla celebrations are built around imaginary characters like Gaspar and Spanish knights, but the Cuban Club has a real hero to celebrate--- the Mambi.  Sociedad del Mambi, the club’s Gasparilla krewe, honors the Cuban patriots who fought the Spanish for forty years before achieving independence.  Start the parade with a Mambi Breeze, a tart mixture of rum, blue curacao, and sour mix.
