The Past:
In June 1995, Convergence I was born at a Chicago sports bar as the chance for net.goths from all over the world to finally gather together and meet in person. It caught on as an annual event that draws goths to a new location every year. Past Convergences were held in cities such as New Orleans, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Las Vegas, Montreal, New York City, Toronto, San Francisco, Boston.
The Present:
Tampa's own Ybor City won as the location of Convergence XIV to be held August 8-11, 2008. This year, the head Convergencites have planned to mix dark with bright in the Sunshine State. Like the site says, "Think PVC parasols and vintage bathing suits." A new theme and place, but still many familiar faces, events, sounds and sinful indulgences that are all an energizing blast to the past and loads of fun for the entire Convergence weekend.

The Buzz (C14 Tickets & Accomodations):
The Hyatt Regency in Downtown Tampa is the official hotel of Convergence 14. The C14 Committee has negotiated considerably discounted room rates for different types of rooms. The special price is only available until July 18, 2008, so book ASAP to get in on the deal.
The $60 all-access laminates can be purchased online until July 31, and picked up upon arrival at Convergence XIV. Limited numbers of one-night and multi-day passes will also be sold at events.
