Madeira Beach, Florida -- The biggest movie since Batman has a big Bay area connection. "Twilight" opens Friday in theaters nationwide and stars Jackson Rathbone, grandson of Madeira Beach resident Clarence Brauner.
"I just can't believe it! Here is part of my DNA walking across the screen!" says Brauner, who has a collection of his grandson's magazine articles.
The movie is expected to be a huge hit, especially with teenage girls. It's already sold out 500 opening day shows and accounts for 85 percent of all advance ticket sales this week.
"If I had buttons on my shirt, they'd be popping off," Brauner says.
Rathbone, 24, plays the role of vampire Jasper Hale.
The movie is based on a four book series that's sold more than 17-million copies and is on pace to outsell Hollywood hits High School Musical 3 and the last two Harry Potter Movies.
