Located on an archeological site, the Safety Harbor Museum explores over 12,000 years of Florida's rich history. The permanent Pre-historic Gallery displays fossilized mammoths, mastadons and even ground sloths, as well as tools used by pre-historic man. The Heritage Gallery has remnants from the pioneer days, including pottery used by the original settlers.
Temporary revolving exhibits include the Highwayman art gallery and Seminole Nation artifacts presentation, as well as other seasonal exhibits, and the museum is home to a large research library.
