So much that when MTV.com posted a “track-by-track reaction” to a leaked version of “Hard Candy” two weeks before its release, the backlash from angry fans forced them to issue a contrite follow-up just three days later, clarifying that the reaction was not an official review. Mariah, meanwhile, drew boos from the crowd at Los Angeles’ Universal CityWalk when she showed up two hours late for an autograph signing, then left with 100 fans still waiting.
