Airplane lovers fly over to Lakeland annually for Sun 'n Fun which takes place in mid April. In fact, this event is so huge that people come from all over the United States just to attend. Hundreds of aircraft are on display for those who are thinking about a hefty purchase, but it's also a good way to explore and learn about different planes.
Different events take place throughout the day and the week; the Florida Air Museum, aerospace workshops, tours, forums, and daily airshows. You'll find many aircraft enthusiasts here talking airplane jargon and willing to answer any questions you have. You can even jump inside some of the planes for a look and in past years they've had simulators. Expect to see a variety of aircraft--from military planes, experimental planes, general aviation planes, business jets, and everything in between.
