The historic St. Petersburg Coliseum, built during the Roaring Twenties, boasts a large hardwood dance floor and a capacity of up to 2,000 people. The Coliseum has hosted a myriad of different acts over the years, from big bands in the Thirties to contemporary attractions of today. Many associations host trade shows as well, including jewelry, antiques, gems and collectables. Concerts are a regular feature also. The first and third Wednesday afternoon each month features live swing and big band tea dances; dancers of all ages give the hardwood floor a workout. Community radio station WMNF holds several concerts there each year featuring a variety of music genres as well as their annual New Years Eve Bash, while many other promoters and radio stations host live music concerts as well.
