Coney Island Sandwich Shop is easy to miss on a desolate slice of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., hugging the outskirts of downtown St. Petersburg. Walk inside and you are instantly transported to a diner that looks straight out of Grease, with sparkling white walls, formica counter, and red vinyl covered stools. The small menu is a protein lover’s dream; chili, hot dogs, and egg and cheese. Throw in some shakes and that’s the majority of offerings at this establishment. A tiny restaurant, little hard to find but well worth it. Will take you back to the 50's or 60's. Very good place to eat before exploring St. Pete....
