Upscale, yet casual, Zen Bistro is simply but sophisticatedly decorated with a wall of bamboo and gardens of sand and stone encased in the polished cement floor. A curved bar - highlighted with fiber-optic lighting that provides a modern twist - accommodates patrons sipping sake or an exotic martini at one end; the opposite end offers up a few choice seats overlooking Zen‘s sushi bar.

An ambitious sushi menu includes the “Sixth Sense” - spicy tuna, avocado and tempura onion wrapped in rice paper and topped with more spicy tuna, tobiko and wasabi tobiko - and the “Art of Meditation” - chunks of tuna marinated in chili sesame oil and lime sauce with fresh Asian herbs and slaw atop a California roll. Sashimi and tempura lend the menu a Japanese feel, but dishes like the lime beef - seared sirloin tossed with cilantro, mint, fried shallot and chopped peanut - offer a spicy Vietnamese flair.

The menu also boasts a number of wok-tossed stir-fries, curries and noodle bowls.
