According to the restaurant's website, its name means: "CHEAP (chēp) (adj.) 1. worth more than it costs. 2. a boutique restaurant-bar."

This asian-infused trendy tapas bar started as a small suite on Howard Avenue, but when Sangria's moved out, it essentially took over the bottom-half of the building and is bringing hot specials to the Hyde Park area, which fortunately help cut down on the not-so-"cheap" menu.

"Goddess Specials" on half-priced pitchers of sangria all day on Tuesday through Sunday; On "Vespera Domina" Wednesdays all ladies receive half-off on all sushi, top shelf and specialty drinks and sangria, and $1 crudos (raw and cold appetizers) all night; "Fortuno" Happy Hour s are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Sunday, which means half-off specialty and top shelf drinks, selected bottled beers and menu items and pitchers of sangria; "Hospitum" Hospitality Specials Tuesday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to close and all day Sunday and specialty and top shelf drinks, selected bottled beers and menu items and pitchers of sangria are half-off; "Dog Day Afternoons" Yappy Hour every day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and receive half-off sangria, specialty drinks and select menu items; and there are also birthday specials for the ladies.

Listen to nightly entertainment of different live DJs featured Tuesday through Sunday and snack on warm tapas-style dishes like crab cakes, pork tenderloin, lollipops (saffron-marinated chicken wings with romesco sauce), baked goat cheese and spring rolls, or cold/raw appetizers like crab salad, tuna and sushi rolls.  Don't miss the sangria, mojitos and martinis.
