Among all the ice cream shops dotting the beach communities, Twistee Treat usually has the longest line. Whether or not Twistee Treat serves the best ice cream is a matter of opinion, but the ice cream establishment does serve consistent familiarity. Twistee Treat is a leftover from the Eighties --  and so retro it's almost corny -- but therein lie its charm. It is perhaps fond memories, gleaned of vacations from days gone by, that continue to attract throngs of visitors and locals alike to the ice cream cone-shaped building purveying soft-serve ice cream, yogurt, shakes, chili dogs, pizzas and more.
 
This is also one of the favorite spots of pet lovers. Well-mannered canine friends are welcome to join their two-legged friends for a cool summer treat at one of the picnic tables in front of the Twistee Treat. Walk up to the window, place an order and hang out and enjoy.
