As a transplant to Florida from the Northeast, I am relatively biased and selective in my pizza eating decisions and have made it my mission to find what I consider a genuinely good slice of pizza in the Tampa
As the name describes, the pizzeria is situated around an outside deck dining area that used to be attached to a residential house. Inside is a small indoor space with the kitchen and additional seating if that suits you better. This at-home family environment is further noticed through the frequent visitors and amusing staff who go out of their way to converse with customers. Every Wednesday night, the Deck has $1 pizza slices and $1 beer from 5 to 11pm. But get there early, or you may be run over by hungry college students or local Hyde Park residents that flock here.
It may look scruffy on the outside, but it’s the food that matters. Come in and seat yourself!
