Boba Internet Cafe gets its name in the newest trend in luxury soft drinks. "Boba" refers to the tapioca pearls that come in every coffee, tea, smoothie, or juice beverage.
Originating in Taiwan, Boba drinks, also known as "bubble tea" have gained popularity throughout the West Coast and are expanding across the country. The tapioca balls rest on the bottom of the drink, and the "mysterious marbles" float up the wide straws when the beverage is soft. This adds a great taste and unique texture to teas, coffees, cappucinos, and more. Boba Cafe boasts a variety of delicious flavors for smoothies and slushies as well, including Strawberry Mango, Papaya, Guava Pink, and Pineapple Coconut. These drinks are a delicious treat on a hot Florida afternoon.
Besides unique refreshments, Boba Internet Cafe strives to provide a sanctuary for the mind, complete with internet access, a video game console with a wide-screen television, and an assortment of soft chairs and reading materials. The interior artwork highlights local artists as well as USF students, featuring galleries of work by the USF photo club, among others. A bevy of exotic live orchids from around the world also add splashes color to this bright new concept.
