5. G1: Google phone
Why should Apple have all the fun? Google gets in on the touch screen phone bonanza with the G1. It has a touch screen, but if you'd rather not let your fingers do the walking, there's also a trackball to navigate the web. And, there's a regular QWERTY keyboard in case the fingerprints on the touch screen start to get to you. On the Internet side, it uses "Real Web" so you see the regular versions of your favorite Web sites, instead of the mobile versions.
It's also designed to run seamlessly with all the Google applications.
Cost: The phone itself is $179. You have to get a voice plan from T-Mobile, and a middle of the road voice plan is $49.99. On top of that you have to add a data plan, which is about $25 a month.
