Ybor City Neighborhood Guide
Tourists and locals enjoy Tampa's historic district that continues to stay current with restaurants, bars, and entertainment hot spots. Ybor City was once home to thousands of Italian, Cuban, and Spanish immigrants and was the center of the U.S. cigar industry. Trendy restaurants now occupy many of former cigar factories. But the city still retains an Old-World feel, with outdoor cafes, brick-lined streets and ornate balconies overlooking Seventh Avenue, the city's main thoroughfare. At night, the city comes alive when the younger crowd arrives to catch up and coming bands, head to their favorite watering holes, or meet up with friends for a night on the town.
