Over the past 20 years, the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in downtown Tampa has hosted a variety of local and world-renowned events. This performing arts complex has shared Broadway shows, plays, musicals, concerts, operas, dance recitals, summer camps and many other performances with visitors and supporters of the arts. The Center is made up of five seperate theaters, plus the Patel Performing Arts Conservatory, a rehearsal hall, shops, a box office, three restaurants and facilities for events and banquets.
The Shimberg Playhouse contains 130 seats, and is a small setting for both local and national musicians, small dance and theater companies, poets, comedians and more and poets, musicians, dancers, comedians, performance artists and small theater companies. The Shimberg Playhouse was formerly call the Off Center Theater, and is located in between the Jaeb Theater and the CenterStore.
