No, it’s not Christmas yet. Yes, we still come bearing gifts. Just don’t get this hot gossip too close to the tree—fire hazard!
5. “Gossip Girl” Spin-off Resurfaces
Some buzz just refuses to go away. Just a few months after producers quelled rumors that "Gossip Girl" Jenny Humphrey would get her own spin-off, they seem to be mulling another. No one seems ready to invest that much time in the project, though. Instead of filming a pilot, a "Gossip Girl" episode focused on the yet-to-be-named character should air later this season to gauge interest. Let’s hope this might have something to do with rumors that evil Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) is returning to the show around the same time.
4. "Knight Rider" Runs Out of Gas
Sorry if you liked that full season order, "Knight Rider," but you can't keep it. Despite granting the freshman remake 22 episodes after a moderately successful first few airings, NBC went back on its word last week, cutting the season back to just 17 episodes. "Rider" is now slated for a season finale early in the next year. Does that mean it's also a series finale? Not necessarily. But it certainly doesn't bode well for any of you who have grown fond of hearing Val Kilmer's velvety musings every week.
3. Neve Campbell Considered for “Philanthropist”
NBC’s new show about a “renegade billionaire” giving all his money away might be benefiting from a long absent TV veteran. Neve Campbell is in talks join “The Philanthropist” after almost a decade away from the small screen. The “Party of Five” alum is apparently just inches away from signing up to play a married woman who has “strong chemistry” with the title character, played by James Purefoy.
2. “Veronica Mars” Film Still a Possibility
Things may look grim of Kristen Bell on “Heroes,” but the actress could soon have something even better to occupy her time—a big screen continuation of her old show, “Veronica Mars.” Though there’s always been talk of a film, it wasn’t until last week that creator Rob Thomas mentioned that there is, in fact, a script. He just needs more time to wrap it up. How about this winter, Rob? ABC announced last week that they’d only be needing nine of the original 13 episodes ordered of Thomas’s midseason series, “Cupid,” so his schedule is looking pretty clear!
1. “Full House” Revisited
Are you sitting down? John Stamos announced last week that he's plotting a spin-off of his long-dead schmaltzy sitcom, “Full House.” The series wouldn't likely reunite much of the cast, and you can count the Olsen twins out, but Candace Cameron Bure says that she's on board and so is her on-air sister (and recovering meth addict), Jodie Sweetin. "Significantly Emptier House," as we dream it might be called, would follow DJ and Stephanie as young women trying to make it in the world and, presumably, avoiding Kimmy Gibbler.
