Merlin
Premieres June 21 on NBC
NBC's new "13-part drama series" (read: they'll only make one season... unless it's succesful) could have been called "Merlin: The Early Years" or "MerlinBabies" or "Merlin: Episode I: The Phantom Merlin." Okay, maybe not that last one. The miniseries takes a fresh spin on the world's second most famous wizard, showing his rise to wizardry and tumultuous relationship with a young Prince Arthur. But what happens when Kal-El discover his super originis? Oh wait, wrong show.

The Storm
Premieres July 26 on NBC
Billionaire Robert Terrell (Treat Williams, "Everwood") has perfected "weather creation" technology, but during a test run he accidentally disrupts the Earth's meteorological balance and all heck breaks loose. This "Day After Tomorrow"-ish miniseries stars "Dawson's Creek" star James van der Beek as the scientist all humanity must depend on to save the planet. We'll give you a second to really take that in.
