If you like…”Gossip Girl” (The CW)
Teen dramedies suffer from a horrible tendency to not try—like teens themselves, they’ll take the road most traveled to avoid ruffling any feathers. “Popular” was not one of those shows. During it’s two-season run, the WB satire and its unique humor slipped under the radar while the network’s more conventional high school shows thrived. Absurd storylines, whip-smart cultural references and more non sequiturs than you can shake a stick at make “Popular” required viewing in our books.

We can think of some pretty girls carefully walking the frenemy tightrope on TV today—Serena and Blair on “Gossip Girl.” Shows like this are basically all cut from the same catty (and addictive) cloth.
