Veronica Mars
If you like…”House” (Fox)
The hole that “Veronica Mars” left in our TV lineup may still be gaping and bloody, but we think it’s time we acknowledge the sad reason she’s gone: None of you were watching! But maybe now’s your chance. Part comedy, part mystery and part steamy and evolving love triangle, “VM” was a deeply involved noir that explored issues of racism and socioeconomic divide. The show’s knack for storytelling meant the mysteries were long-lasting with less filler. It’s too late for Veronica now, but it’s not too late for you to give in to her charms.
This one seems like a bit of a stretch, but both “House” and “Veronica Mars” star witty, occasionally obnoxious sleuths who, despite their unparalleled smarts, don’t often make the best decisions. These two are TV’s greatest flawed heroes—and we just realized who we wish House’s new intern was!
