Party of Five
If you like…“Brothers & Sisters” (ABC)
Quality control on “Party of Five” may not have been as consistent as some, but when it was good, it was so damn good. The story of five remarkably pretty children left to fend for themselves in the wake of a car accident that killed their parents, “Party of Five” explored all of the themes you’d expect from a ‘90s drama…and did so set to an awesome soundtrack. Only the first two seasons have made it to DVD so far, so if you want to see the heartbreaking effects of Bailey’s alcoholism in season three, you’re going to have to ask very nicely.
Tons of siblings and melodrama and all the interventions you could ask for? The Walkers and the Salingers are two peas in one dysfunctional yet wildly entertaining pod. “Brothers & Sisters” is what “Party of Five” would have probably looked like if it ran another 20 years. And the mom had come back to life.
